Preparing (again) for Patch 6.2.3

Preparing (again) for Patch 6.2.3

Tuesday, Nov. 17th is the big day, Valor Points will arrive. This will require an extended maintenance so first crack will be early afternoon.

First of all, let us make an assumption. Blizzard wants to boost our raid stats by ten percent (or nerf the raid by 10%). I think it will really be five percent with a patch 6.2.4 down the line, but let us assume 10%, which is great.

I have fifteen pieces of gear. Each piece can be upgraded by two levels only. Upgrading one piece, my weapon might give me a one percent boost. If everyone in our raid does one full upgrade on a single piece, we will collectively be one percent stronger.

This means that the increase will be gradual, we won’t be a Super Team for quite a while. So, relax — we’ll get there.

Here is what we are getting. It takes 250 VP for one upgrade, 500 VP for two or max on a single piece of gear.

  • Mythic Dungeons – Awarded at dungeon completion, once per dungeon per week – 300 Valor Points
  • Weekly Event Quest – Obtained from Seer Kazal once a week, Pet Battle Event excluded – 500 Valor Points
  • Heroic Dungeons – First Random Heroic of the day – 100 Valor Points
  • Raid Finder Wing – Once per week per wing – 150 Valor Points (HC)/75 Valor Points (Highmaul and BF)

HFC has five wings, so that would be 750 VP (if you do Archimonde, yuck).
High Maul has three wings, so that’s 225 VP.
BRF has four wings, so that’s 300 VP.

I think there are eight dungeons to try for the Mythic run, quite a hurdle to get all in one week.

My goal is on Tuesday to get my weapon upgraded. I’ll probably do a HFC run in the LFR assuming a quick brutal run with players who have Intention!

Then, I’ll just spread it out as I have time. A Mythic run sounds good and fun if I am with my guild mates. Otherwise, the daily heroic dungeon and the LFR’s.
