Stress Testing Legion
Today, July 7th, they are stress testing the Legion Launch.
Those on Beta will see a shut down of all Beta servers for a few hours. Then on the time, you could log in with everyone else and give Blizzard a practice run. They are asking that you do the quest sequence (scenario, Stormwind, Dalaran, artifact, class hall) that introduces the players to the new expansion.
How cool is that?
I am honored to be part of a community that will give up their time to work for Blizzard as a volunteer to make this gaming world a better place. The players gain very little and suffer willingly through glitches, bugs, disconnects etc.
I am a bit naïve in that I thought that the Beta Key would give me advance information on Legion. And on one level: yes. But, if I thought Hati died too easy and that Hunters would suck: that was stuff that would be balanced, improved, measured and changed over the coarse of the Beta phase. Not the end product or even close and maybe not even what they are testing on that day!
I don’t mind working for Blizzard as … cannon fodder. I’ll run out there and be a small gumball in a big machine. It is (in a sense) for the greater good. Launch Day should be a pretty good day. You are welcome!
