“My candle burns at both ends
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends –
It gives a lovely light.”
Edna St. Vincent Millay
Moderation My Friends
We play a Massively Multi-Player game. We have instancing and phasing and cross-realm zones to either enhance or lighten the crush of players. I have no idea of the numbers but most would agree that this was a very good launch of a new expansion.
With the zone scaling, you can party up with a friend and quest together. I recommend it. Find a friend, get on headphones and explore and share the experience. It is an MMO after all.
Player Beware! If you join up with someone who has taken the week off from work to enjoy the launch — you will get your ass kicked! I thought I was pretty good at the grind but my friend can burn. I ask for a break and she says “sure”, and she is working on more stuff while I’m stretching my back and getting more ice cold water.
I’m having a ball.
I’d like to preach moderation. I believe in it as a life-style. Still, we all know that life begins at 110. There is this urge, this striving, to get there. I find myself pushing harder than is my core personality. Why is that?
Every quest seems to have “hurry!” in the quest. We are under pressure, the burning legion is pouring in, we have to DO something about it! Hurry, hurry, hurry.
Where is my Master Cho? Slow down.
