Looking at Patch 7.1
I have not killed that last boss in the Emerald Nightmare nor opened the two dungeons via Suramar activity. I will soon enough, I imagine. I have been “building up” my character a lot, as intended; fishing, cooking, world quests are all part of my playstyle.
The preview notes for 7.1 can be found here.
7.1 isn’t quite a “filler” patch because it has Kara as new content however a lot of the patch will be for the purpose of introducing us to future content a la The Trial of Valor raid and the Nighthold Raid. We know that they have suggested that Nighthold will be early January.
Look at the Notes:
The model looks to be from MoP; some new zone opens with its unique rewards and mobs and storyline. There is some tuning of classes (which look like nerfs to my Druid) but those lists will be much grander than those in the link I provided.
- Class tuning
- Raiding with Leashes in ICC, Ulduar and Trial of the Crusader
- New zone areas and content to lead us to the next Raids
- Rep cooking recipes via The Wardens
- Kara – a new “mega” dungeon with a ton of bosses.
- Catch-up mechanics for Alts

Reputation will not be made account-wide, no, but we will be easing a couple of linked features with 7.1.
First, Court of Stars and The Arcway will now unlock account-wide once each individual dungeon is completed once on an account.
Second, World Quests will no longer have the “friendly” reputation unlock requirement for secondary/alt characters. Once you hit 110 on an alt, you will immediately receive a quest to speak with Khadgar to receive your Flight Master’s Whistle and unlock World Quests, as long as you’ve already unlocked World Quests on your main.
Hope this answers your concerns! 🙂
7.1 will be a welcome patch. With Kara and the new areas, it must be considered a soild and full patch. The timing? Knowing that Nighthold is early January and New Nightfallen story quests, with new content every week leading up to the opening of The Nighthold., we have to assume about five or six weeks prior with some leeway (lots of holidays); so let us guess around mid-November.
