Patch 7.2: In Perspective
Today’s Date is: Dec. 17, 2016.
Patch 7.1.5 will likely get pushed to well after the release of Nighthold, the next raid which is slated for Jan. 17. The patch is of interest for its fun Micro-Holidays scattered all over our calendar and a re-shuffling of our stats and talents. Some big, some small but nothing to really anticipate.
Patch 7.2 will be … in May? Four months in Nighthold sounds about right, April might be better and is likely too. This is the patch when Action Happens. Flying, new Artifact Traits, a new Zone to play in, etc.
Until then, for the next five months, we are vamping. Our Artifacts will be done pretty soon with no change but small increases in power. We have five months to finish Pathfinder Part One. We have five months to finish questing in Suramar or leveling professions. It is a long time to be running in the same circles.
The new Raid, in January, will be exciting and fun. The Normal experience will drop items that are only five steps higher than my current gear, if that. With the long-view to 7.2, I hope our team doesn’t just blow through it. The fear in a game is, as always, running out of stuff to do.
It is possible 7.2 could be in March, giving us merely two months in a raid — that doesn’t feel right, does it? But new content will be very welcome in the game outside of raiding — even now, World Quests have lost their luster, my rep is Solid Exalted, dungeons are repetitive though everyone might really run Mythic Plus soon as the sole means to getting better gear and finding challenges.
Relax guys, level an Alt, do some profession stuff. Try PvP.
