Mastery: Harmony 7.1.5

I can’t figure it out, so I can guess.

Our old Mastery had a cap of three HoTs, buffing our heals 3 x 5% for a 15% total boost. To be on the same healing quality page as the other healers we had to cast three spells for their one. That is the “up to 3” in that strange arcane language.


Old
Mastery: Harmony   Your healing is increased by 5% for each of your Restoration heal over time effects on the target< 1 > $witch[][, up to 3].target.

New
Mastery: Harmony Your healing is increased by 5% for each of your Restoration heal over time effects on the target.


Our new Mastery no longer has the cap of three HoTs.

If I understand that right, we could have up to 8 HoTs (depending on Talents etc.) running on a player for a 8 x 5% = 35% buff to our spells.

With one of our Legendary rings which “spawn” extra HoTs plus the Smart Heals of Spring Blossoms and Wild Growth or perhaps Germination, we could be getting a very strong buff to Druid Healing.

Equip: Allies healed by your Wild Growth have a 20% chance to also gain Rejuvenation.

Does this effect our Talent choices and rotations? I’m not sure, I don’t think so — I think we’ll be stronger and so have to heal less (but still crazy clicking) and have better mana management OR we’ll always go nuts to try to top the charts.

  • Am I reading this right?
  • Is it a buff or a nerf?
  • I’ll have to make the rounds on the guides, as they are updated, to read more from the pros.
  • Are all of the other healers getting a buff?
  • What about my Paragon traits? I’m at 7% buff to all healing right now, across the board — how does a developer design around that?
  • Serious; the only new content will be that raid on the 17th, which we’ll be in forever.

  1. Has that cap of 3 always been there? I’ve never picked up on it before and never seen it pointed out in a guide that there is a cap of 3 so I’ve tried to hot stack.. cen ward, 2x rejuv, regrowth and wild growth etc . Now I see its been redundant all along?
    I dont think it’s going to do anything to help in raids, we still can’t hot stack the sheer amount of ppl but it should make us much stronger dgn healers though where we can stack hots and not oom.

    1. I agree, it probably won’t make much difference … but it might, lol. I’ve been trying to read about the Three Cap and it’s removal for a while. Because if you understand how something works then you can use it better.
