Real Neat Blog Award

My task is three-fold: return the link with a thank you.

I need to answer some questions, which I soon will. And then link to other bloggers with the same task. Following the links on Z is for Zeirah’s page and then to others and then others has been really great. I don’t know any other bloggers outside of this small circle to challenge. With that, I offer apologies.

On to the questions!

If you couldn’t blog about WoW anymore, what would you blog about?
Art making. It has been a life-time journey for me and I’ve come to some, I believe, solid conclusions about transcending technique, break-throughs and motivation.

What’s the best and worst thing about blogging?
The best is that I work on it everyday. It is like an under-current flowing beneath all of my WoW experiences from in-game to visiting other bloggers or data-mining sites; constantly waiting for a topic to flag itself.
The worse is the interface. I suck at adding pictures or changing my theme and worry that if I dink with it that it’ll all just disappear! At one point in my life, I taught Photoshop, HTML and CSS; then I’d tinker for hours to get something just right but now that this is a blog, I tend to try to keep it entirely word based.

What’s your favourite achievement in WoW?
60 Exalted Reputations. I wanted to be The Beloved!

How long have you been playing computer games?
My Mom used to play the text based games “you are in a room” and you type “look around”. Then you’d “go North” or “pick up shovel” like a little mystery to solve. I don’t think computers had graphics then. I played at those games for a while. Maybe they had simple graphical games like shooting a cannon into the wind.

If you could have one day to do anything in, what would you do?
I’d spend a day in a museum. Visiting the Getty and the Norton Simon in Los Angeles changed my life. Visiting the Museum of Modern Art in New York changed the way I see the world around me. More please! I’d like to visit the Museo Nacional Centro De Arte and spend a few hours looking at Picasso’s Guernica.

What’s your favourite food?
Hot fudge sundae, two scoops and then a nap.

Where do you prefer to go, Mountains or Beach?
I used to go kite flying at night with my wife on the beach in Santa Monica. The wind was so even and steady that I used two balls of string and it was a tiny dot far off in the moonlight.
Still, the mountains for me. Horseback riding in the Sangre de Cristos was amazing. I’ve been lucky enough to visit many of our National Parks in the United States and it is soothing to the soul.
