BfA: Gathering Professions
Many in our guild will be using Gathermate2 and it’s companion Gathermate_Sharing. This should peg the nodes down on our mini-map and steer us in a good direction.
I expect us to use these addons for only a month or two until we learn the best places to go for herbing, mining and fishing. This does not work for skinning.
We are a big fan of WoW-Professions Farm Guides. This site will show us the best places to get all gathering materials including different kinds of meats, cloth, leather, herbs and ores. This site has not been updated for BfA yet but I have faith, I’ve used this site for years.
In all, I enjoy the collective data gathering from our guild with that addon. It feels like we are supporting each other. As I recall, there are addons for Tom Tom that will draw paths for you on the map but I never found that very fun.
Does your guild do things like this at the beginning of an expansion?

No guild I have been in has coordinated professions or gathering like that. It’s actually a nice idea and something more should proabbly do. I do agree with you about http://www.wow-professions.com . It is a brilliant site that has been around for many years. Their crafting profession leveling guides have always been spot on and helped many times to quickly catch up alt professions!

On our guild we’ve got the designated alchemists and cooks 🙂
I just wish Inscription was more relevant in terms of consumables (like crafting augment runes).
I love that site, can’t wait for the BfA update, the gathering routes and node locations have been a huge help 🙂

Cool. I’ve thought on that — does everyone else feed materials to the cooks and alchemists and has there ever been any resentment?

None at all 🙂
We even have people doing cooking WQ just to send the bacon to the cooks. My druid does mass herbalism (druid gathering speed bonus+ gathering in flight form + enchant in gloves) and the mats are fed to our friendly “flask maker”- its how we call her :D.
Having dedicated crafters with a good supply is a great way to assure we always have consumables ready.

Inscription is going to be huge this next expansion. You can craft an item that increases rep gained which will be a gated part of the game to push past. I predict that scribes will make tons of money with these.
