Raiding with Leashes: Done

There was a chill in the air last night. We cancelled our raid. I’ve been with these guys since Mists of Pandaria and this has not happened. We have two tanks and two back-up tanks, all four were missing in action. Chilling.

Raiding with Leashes is done! It took ten characters. It may seem like a lot but the Endless Terrace was done quickly. Then it was the second boss in Heart and the final boss in Mogu for the final two pets.

The LFR version is quickest because there is no travel. The LFR is broken too. I put in bug reports. After the “take your trinkets” boss dies and Cho pushes the button; nothing happens. In Heart, it is after the giant bug where you shoot his legs; the boss after that does not show up.

I even took my tailor. This guy has very full bags with all kinds of tailoring stuff. He is parked in the garrison to gather materials for bag making. I’d shift click on each boss to see if the pet had dropped. Imagine my surprise when the Postmaster sent me all of the loot by mail!

The final pet to get was in the Heart of Fear, second boss. It was on a weak 110 with little gear on a realm with no guild. If you don’t knock down the boss fast, you end up with tornados whooshing down the room and sending you back. Nope, I still can’t do that stuff. I got lucky, I guess but I kept trying and hoping for the enrage timer to finish it. But I got him and the achieve dinged on a lonely realm far away.

There is a quest below decks on the mission table boat to go find Feathers in Tanaris. He needs your help in many ways. I have the engineering portal to Gadgetzan and forgot to pick up more Niffenflogger elixirs. This turns out to be a nice pet and he is big!

All in all, a fun night. I got to collect a bunch of new tmog looks, I earned several thousand gold on each run and I got to play on some old yet beloved characters that I’d not seen in a while.

Happiness!

Raiding with Leashes Begins!

I’m glad that I have some Alts. The three raids; Heart of Fear, Endless Terrace and the Mogu Vaults, can be run on two difficulties per character. Either the LFR or the Normal/Heroic versions.

So far, I’ve only done it on Normal and in a lazy way.

Yesterday, my hunter ran them and go no pets but a lot of gear to sell! New tmogs to my appearance tab too. Make sure that you have a ton of bag space.

My Druid ran the three this morning and got two from Fear and one from the Mogu Vaults.

My other hunter just ran Endless Terrace and got a pet also; he’s yet to visit the other two. Hunters like the talent Barrage for the old raids.

Here is Comet, the pet drop from Elegon. He is playful and likes to roll on his back. It is hard to see but his shape is quillan.

The March of the Alts

Yesterday I stopped striving and pushing through Legion content on a tangent. I began going for the Raiding with Leashes achievement. It was (and is) great. In a lot a ways because it was NOT Legion but easy sauce.

My Classic Tactic is to run something a bunch to get the needed list small enough to look at what I still need. Do I read this right that the Lich King drops two different pets; dirty pool.

Yesterday was a good day because there was a puzzle to solve but I didn’t have to be a superhero. I have quite a few Alts at 100 who are nifty enough to take on these old raids. I had to get a friend to give me a quick tour of ICC and show me how to beat the gunship and where-to-turn-when in this big raid; I have it down now.

The end of Trials of the Champion offers a portal to Old Dalaran. Ulduar offers a portal back to the beginning of the raid. ICC, you jump (and die) off the platform and end up at the entrance. Since all are in northern Northrend, you want to stay in the area.

You earn about 800g on Heroic 25 man ICC, btw.

I think I have three pets left before I get the desired Celestial Invitation. I might have one more Alt who is salty enough to try them on 10 man Normal. I can wait until the Reset to try again. It was very satisfying, the pets are funny and cute and well-designed. Give it a go.

And … since we are all about the pets, the pets, the pets — I picked up two of the new Falcosaur direbeak hatchlings with some friends last night. We looked up the food to bring and went to the zones and embraced our orphans. Since I have stacks of Charms and pet leveling tokens, I zoomed one up to 25 and he fell asleep, exhausted! So very cute.

I think I read that there will be 30 quests involved with this direbeak pet (and all over again with the other three, I bet), so I’ve dragged the icon to the action bar to pull him out in case he has a task for me.

Fun stuff and a sooper-dooper nice tangent from the groaning responsibilities of Legion content.
